A father, who is a failed former television reporter tries to mount a documentary about violence and sex among youths. He proceeds to have sex with his daughter who is now a prostitute and films his son being humiliated and hit by classmates. "Q", a perfect stranger somehow gets involved and enter the bizzare family who's son beats his mom, who in turn is also a prostitute and a heroin addict...

TWISTED BUT A MASTERPIECE I discovered Miike in the Toronto Film Festival, with ICHIE THE KILLER. While waiting for the movie to start a paper bag was given to me, 'just in case.'.The movie was gory, but to my surprise, it has a dark sense of humor and IT WAS A LOVE STORY!!!. Since then, I tried to get more of his movies, but none of them (even success in Europe like THE AUDITION) got American distribution, not even on video.I had to overpay in order to get some of his movies. Back to VISITOR Q, this thing, even a lot less gory than ICHIE is a lot DARKER and a lot more fun. This is like ADDAM'S FAMILY but for adults with a very open mind. The story starts with a very sexual scene between an adult man and his daughter (who became prostitute). If you can not pass that, do not even try to see this movie.Compared with which comes later, that is nothing. Miike can go very deep into your mind and touch your most twisted feelings and thoughts. He is able to make you feel some sympathy for every character, besides the incestuous father, we have a sadistic/abused son, drug addict/abused/prostitute mother, a prostitute daughter and a guy who enjoys breaking others peoples head. Believe me feeling whoever can make you feel anything but repulsion for these people must be a genius, and Miike is. I can not go further in the story, because some things can not be explained. You just have to see this, fight to get commercial distribution of this genius and enjoy a complete different type of cinema. In a 1 to 10 scale, this movie deserves 11.
