The are 5 possible search types :

• by title
• by director
• by IMDb Id
• by actors starring in the movie
• by year

IMDb id and Year will allways be searched exactly

for title and director you can choose:

• "is exactly" if you're sure of the spelling
• "contains" will search for the string you enter in the relative field
• "starts with" will search for everything in title or director that starts with the string tou entered
• "ends with will search for everything in title or director that ends with the string tou entered

Starring will search in the actors field for theall the words you enter, in the order you've entered it, so if you enter the seach will match "woody allen", but not "woody harrelson" or "allen coulter".

String formats in the database :

• Titles are always stored as the original title of the film. (a search on alternative titles will be possible soon=
• Directors and actors names are First name, Last name
